Day 9 The Great Adventure

June 18, 2018

38.8 km

Today started with the offer of a hot shower from Suzanne, which was very much appreciated. We started out riding to the Kessock bridge, only a couple of hours on nice roads and tracks, but boy did it rain! We were soaked through by the time we met up with the lorry. We had some lunch whilst heating up as the lorry took us over the bridge, and put us on the end of the Great Glen Way, on the outskirts of Inverness.

This afternoon was slightly less wet, we rode a long way, but it was really nice riding on the Great Glen way. We had a good time until near (ish) the end when the heavens opened again!

The ground team, along with the kind people they have met, outdid themselves today, as the ponies have the run of a field (rather than just a pen) and we have somewhere indoors to sleep, and another hot shower!! We have been so spoilt, so much thanks to Claire and Mike and Dug and Kerry.

The ponies are still feeling marvellous thanks to treatments before leaving from A.P.Equine & Canine McTimoney Chiropractor and from Hesteyri Bowen Therapy along the way.

Our Brook Hi Vis jackets are keeping us safe, and getting a battering from the elements.

Our Cavallo Hoof Boots, Silverfeet, boots, Equsteamz and Tom Quirk have kept feet and legs happy, along with NAF love the skin.

Dogs are healthy and happy on their biscuits from Burns Pet Nutrition

Farm & Stable Supplies have provided the horses supplements to help them stay energetic and healthy. So have NAF and Protexin Equine Premium. Thanks to Wye Valley Country Store for the feed.

Heads kept safe by Gatehouse Hats. Hands kept safe by Roeckl Equestrian.

Very importantly we have been kept on route by Ordnance Survey.

Ponies looking smart in their saddle pads from Rentokil Initial.

Thanks also to Ancol Pet Products, Bling In The Show Ring, Prolite, Robinson Animal Healthcare, Spillers and VioVet for raffle prizes.
